Every Automaker has withstood multiple recessions. Although Ford,Chrysler and GM withstood the Great Depression and Great Recession, only Ford survived the Great Recession of 2008 without government intervention.
Tesla was in its infancy during the Great Recession that began in 2008 and would not have made it without a loan from the United States government.
The big question is .. how much cash reserves will Tesla have built up by the time a recession hits? It should be obvious to every Tesla investor and pundit that Tesla is in a race against time. Although the company is diversified having merged with Solar City and innovated battery technology for homes and the grid, as well as a new solar roof tile, the inescapable fact remains; at some point the US economy will enter a recession. Can Tesla deliver enough automobiles (including its most anticipated Model 3’s), Solar Panels and batteries and bring in enough cash to insulate itself against an inevitable economic downturn?
