Elon Musk is selling a flamethrower to raise funds for his Boring Company. The flamethrowers sell for $500 a piece and so far he has apparently, (according to his Twitter post) sold 10,000 of them.
This is a really bad idea,like the old saying warns; its all fun and games until someone gets hurt, at which point, the world and in particular the press, will go from slightly amused to, not so much.
Elon Musk is known for rational and highly logical thought. In this case however, he is being naive, if someone gets seriously injured, Elon’s reputation will go from hero, to irresponsible villain, nearly overnight and for what?
Best course of action – say it was a joke, bad idea etc, refund the money and sell something less dangerous to the public, but still really cool , like say a hoverboard that floats in place using magnets. The hoverboard could come in a small, decorative size that fits on a desktop -OR- the real thing you can actually stand on.
