Awash in Debt and Bloody Violence – Should The U.S. Divide Itself Into Red and Blue States??

Last week, yet another mass shooting took place in the United States. This on the heels of a sharply divided Congress passing a trillion dollar debt laden budget and a grueling year of divisive politics amidst endless investigations and finger pointing.

It is enough to make any observer wonder if America can find enough common ground to unite and tackle its problems. If it cannot, maybe they should consider dividing the union into two separate countries, comprised of red and blue states.

The issues facing the United States are severe; a massive budget deficit that has gone unchecked since President Bill Clinton left office in 2001. The US will have to reign in its budget if it is to maintain a viable credit rating and stave off a full on, debt induced financial collapse.

Unfortunately the political situation has deteriorated significantly with a divided public and a Congress seemingly intent on destroying itself. These public and political fissures have produced near constant fighting in Washington and brought the country to a stand still on many occasions through government shutdowns that are occurring with alarmingly and insane regularity. It is becoming more and more obvious; as moderates in the US government become fewer, the greater the fiscal and political instability.

The Unites States has a responsibility to both its own people and the world, to come together and effectively deal with its fiscal and political issues. No one wants to see an economic and nuclear super power implode for the world cannot afford such a tragic and destabilizing mistake.
